Rubel is a slender and athletic 6-foot, 165-pound, left-handed pitcher and outfielder in Missouri’s 2023 class. He ran a 7.53 second 60 and posted an exit velocity of 80 mph. At the plate, Rubel starts slightly open with hands resting on back shoulder, simple load with minimal hand movement, in line stride, aggressive with back hip, high finish with hands, during round primarily had contact to the middle and opposite fields. Defensively, clean exchanges, momentum towards target, positional velo of 78 mph with accurate throws. On the mound, Rubel shows a three pitch mix for strikes, high leg kick, high glove side for added deception, crossfire delivery with stride making it tough for LHH to pick up the baseball, consistently works downhill, accelerates down the mound, three-quarter release. Fastball is 73-76 mph with some arm side run, curveball is 65-69 mph, 1-to-7 shape, mostly gradual action, showed some feel for his changeup at 68-69 mph, fading action, occasional sink.
5-foot-11, 170 pounds; athletically built. Good player with high pull-side power. Has box presence. Gets arms extended and looks to do damage. Doubled over RF head on a ball off the end of the bat; has all the physical ability. Also has the ability to be a high-level pitcher.
