Daniel Wissler: LHP/1B, (2022) Fort Zumwalt West, MO. 6-foot, 150-pound slim frame. At the plate, the left-handed hitter showed his power ability with an exit velocity of 90 mph. Started in an open tall stance with a arm bar load, then used a leg kick to start his swing. Bat speed was quick, had flat swing plane and a back foot finish. He barreled up some balls. Pull side approach. In the infield, displayed a velocity of 74 mph; had sure hands, a clean exchange and choppy footwork. Had a loose arm action and a low ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.96. Projectable on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action with good arm speed. Feel type pitcher and uses some effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Slider (67-68 mph).Sat with his fastball at 80-81 mph with a max of 82 mph; showed running action. His changeup showed fading action.
Wissler is a 5-foot-11, 150-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 recruiting class. He has a wirey frame, slender build, room for growth as he develops and physically matures. Wissler has a simple delivery, controlled leg lift, works at a slower tempo, gains momentum as he move down the mound, loose arm action that works from a high three-quarter release. Fastball is 77-80 mph, thrown for a high percentage of strikes, late run to his arm side, changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed, fading action, 72-73 mph, curveball shows 1-to-7 shape, 66-67 mph, sweeping action, has a chance to be a plus pitch for Wissler as he develop his pitching skill set in the future.
