Hit: RHH. At the plate starts with a slightly upright posture and sinks into a good athletic position in the lower half. Hands are set at shoulder height with a high back elbow. Simple stride to balanced position and even weight distribution. Well-above average bat speed and strong rotational acceleration. Uphill bat path and tries to get the ball up in the air.
Power: 82 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF-73 mph. ¾ arm slot with short arm action.
Defense: In the infield shows shows attacking rhythm with short/choppy steps. Plays below the ball well. Sure-handed and starting to show a feel for glove action. Throws had good trajectory across.
Run: 4.94 runner from home to first.
Michael Leardi: SS/3B, (2024) Rockhurst, KS. 5-foot-10, 158-pound slim frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitters best exit velocity was 81 mph. Starts in a crouched stance with a tight load, then uses a short stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed was above average, had uphill swing plane and high finish. He found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Above average in the infield, displayed a velocity of 67 mph; shows sure hands, consistent feet and a clean exchange. Decent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot and a long arm action. Recorded a time of 7.8 in the 60-yard dash.
