Positional Profile: OF
Body: 6-foot-3, 175 pound lean and athletic frame with room for added strength and size.
Hit: RHH. At the plate shows a slightly open and upright stance. Slow tempoed and extra wide stride. Bat speed is developing but shows some present strength at contact. Has natural lift to the swing which translates to more balls getting into the air. Likes to work the ball deeper into the hitting zone and works hard to get hands to the inside part of the ball.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. OF-77 mph. Straight over the top arm slot with longer arm action and release.
Defense: In the outfield showed shorter choppy steps when attacking the ball. Utilizes a back-knee-driven-forward crow hop and when in rhythm work works well. Feel for glove action and getting into a lower fielding position are developing tools.
Run: 4.32 runner from home to first.
Ryan Buckner: OF/RHP, (2023) Nixa, MO. 6-foot-1, 160-pound lanky frame. In the box, Buckners best exit velocity was 79 mph. Starts in an athletic stance with a long stride. Bat speed was average, had an inside-out swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels in his round. Base hit approach. Above average from the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 75 mph; shows a fluid exchange, choppy feet and sure hands. Showed an-over-the-top slot with decent accuracy to the bag. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.18.
