Baur

2/18/13: Baur is a physically imposing 6-foot-5, 215-pound player. At the plate, Baur impressed with his power.  With a slightly crouched stance, Baur showed an explosive lower half to generate a powerful, yet controlled swing. He had some barrel whip through the zone, punishing the ball with backspin carry primarily to the left side, but showing some power to the right center power alley as well.  His top exit velocity was 87-mph off the bat. In the infield, Baur shows quick, soft hands with good footwork and a quick, clean exchange. He plays through the ball, with short, quick arm speed and accurate throws (83-mph).

2/20/12: Baur is an impressive and projectable 6-foot-4, 205-pound shortstop who showed good lateral movement with range up the middle and sure, confident hands.  Baur was clocked at 78 mph from across the diamond with accurate throws.  Offensively, Baur has a balanced setup with a smooth load.  He has a good approach at the plate and takes an economical approach to the baseball.  He showed glimpses of power, and as he continues to progress has the ability to be a top level hitter.
