At the plate, open stance, works into back side with no wasted movement in hands, simple and repeatable, level swing path, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, gains ground after the catch, fluid exchange with fluid footwork to the ball, high three quarters arm slot, mostly accurate throws, 76 mph positional velocity.

2/10/18 - Gilmore is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.55 60 and has an 83 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, controlled load to back side, in line stride, level path with gap to gap approach, loose hands with feel for barrel.  On the infield, 74 mph positional velocity, over the top release, works through the ball, soft hands, feet create momentum to throw, accurate throws. On the mound, Gilmore has a smooth leg lift with raising hands, accelerates in line down the mound, throws with regular effort and some deception in tempo, high three quarters arm slot, fastball worked mostly 73-78 mph, curveball at 58-60 mph, 12-to-6 shape, change up at 67-68 mph, slight arm side run, throws with near fastball arm speed.

At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth and controlled load, short in line stride, simple and repeatable mechanics, loose hands, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 69 mph positional velocity, over the top release, flashes quick glove to hand exchange, feet and hands are connected, momentum through the ball, projectable frame with clean arm action. On the mound, Gilmore has a controlled leg lift and no wasted motion in delivery, body stays under control with hands remaining high, in line stride, high three quarters arm action, slender and projectable frame still developing, fastball at 72-73 mph, some with occasional running action, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, some with late break, change up at 65-68 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed, slight sink.
