Well-proportioned 6-foot-1, 185-pound stature with room to fill out more. Simple mover downhill that repeats and finishes onto a firm lead leg. Pounded the bottom quadrant of the zone with an upper-80s fastball and 84-86 mph sinker that featured some arm-side action. Spun two different breaking balls as well; a 75-77 mph slider with tighter shape and a 69-71 mph curveball with more depth and gradual spin. Will look to make an impact for the Roadrunners in his sophomore year as a strike-thrower with four pitches.
Zach Buschschulte: SS/RHP, (2021) Staley, MO. 6-foot, 170-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 84 mph. Above average while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 82 mph; had consistent footwork, a clean exchange and sure hands. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.14. Projectable on the mound, showing good arm speed he used a quick arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. Feel type pitcher and shows some effort. Displays uphill shoulders with athletic balance point. Lands square with an athletic finish. Changeup (79-79 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 83-86 mph; showed running action, thrown for strikes. He shows tight action on his curveball (69-72).
Buschschulte is a 5-foot-9, 150-pound, right-handed hitting middle infielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.89 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 89 mph. During batting practice, Buschschulte starts in a slight open and athletic stance, shows rhythm with hands, controls the barrel, quiet load, strides across body, quick hands, uphill with swing, showed contact to pull side and middle during round. Defensively, attacks the baseball, quick transfer to release, moves well side-to-side, clean arm action, three-quarter release, positional velo of 70 mph. On the mound, athletic delivery, smooth and fluid actions that work into an aggressive finish, directional towards home plate, loose arm action, repeats delivery. Fastball is 74-76 with some run, thrown for strikes down in the zone, changeups are 64-65 mph, fastball arm speed, depth, curveball is 64-67 mph, mostly gradual action, some occasional late bite.
