Carson Buckner: Germantown  High School, Class of 2021; 5-foot-9, 150-pound; OF/LHP. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 79 mph. Started in tall stance then had a toe tap  Shows a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and rapid bat speed. From the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 79 mph;showed quick feet and soft hands. Used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. He showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.88 60-yard dash. On the mound, he had a long arm action with an over-the-top arm angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. His curveball (67 mph) worked best when he spotted up low in the zone; sinking curveball has some action. He sat with his fastball at 76-79 mph; with a max of 79 mph; showed a running fastball with some action. He successfully located his changeup for a strike at 63 mph;  shows slight action and consistent accuracy on changeup.

6/5/18 Wiry 5-foot-8, 140-pound frame with room to continue to fill. Left-handed hitter tall, slightly open setup with handed slightly above shoulders. Simple shift of weight loading with short stride and balance. Loose, rotational path creating line-drive/ground ball contact to the pull side with bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 81 mph. Outfielder that worked through balls with deliberate footwork, receptive hands and clean exchange. Clean exchange into medium arm stroke and high-3/4 release that produced a positional velocity of 73 mph. Ran a 7.2 60-yard dash. Right-handed pitcher throwing from high-¾ release with fluid rhythm and easy effort in delivery. Level shoulders as he works downhill with in-line direction, finishing slightly off to the first base side. Fastball sat 76-78 mph and was thrown to the arm side. Breaking ball showed early 11/5-shape at 66-67 mph with occasional depth. Change had slight fading action at 70-73 mph.

1/28/18 Long-limb 5-foot-7, 135-pound frame with room for continued growth. Left-handed hitter tall, slightly open setup with handed slightly above shoulders. Simple shift of weight loading with short stride and balance. Rotational path creating line-drive/ground ball contact to the pull side with bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 80 mph. Outfielder that worked through balls with deliberate footwork, receptive hands and clean exchange. Slow gather into medium arm stroke and high-3/4 release that produced a positional velocity of 74 mph. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Left-handed pitcher throwing from ¾ release, with solid balance, and easy effort in delivery. Fluid rhythm working down mound with level shoulders, in-line direction and finishes square and athletically. Fastball sat 74-75 mph with mostly straight action, showing ability to command for strike. Breaking ball showed gradual 2/7-shape and depth at 61-62 mph and change was thrown at 69-70 mph.
