Caston Thompson: 1B/LHP, (2022) Brookhaven academy, MS. 6-foot-3, 245-pound sturdy frame. In the box, Thompsons best exit velocity was 83 mph. Began in a tall stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride before his swing. Had upward swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Pull side approach. Recorded an outfield position velocity of 77 mph. While in the infield, made throws up to 73 mph; had a clean exchange, athletic consistent footwork and sure hands. Recorded a time of 8.1 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, showed an over-the-top arm angle with quick arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has athletic balance point. Curveball (67-69 mph), changeup (71-72 mph).Threw his fastball 80-82 mph and topped out at 82 mph; shows running action with tight movement.
