5.22.16:  Day is 6-2 and has an athletic frame. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery. Short, loose arm action that is quick and generates velocity with some effort. Shoulders are level and closed, strides out on line to a square landing with an athletic finish. Fastball has run to it, sat 78-80, touched 81. 10/4 slider with sharp break and decent armspeed at 65-68. Change-up had good armspeed and run, sitting 72-74.

2.15.15 Day has an athletic frame and throws from a low three-quarters slot. He has a very short backside arm action due to a wrist wrap, but his armstroke is quick. He has good rhythm and his shoulders and stride are on line. He comes to an athletic finish. Day’s fastball sat 75-77 mph, touching 78 mph, with heavy run to it. He threw a 10/4 sweeping slider that had sharp, late break to it and ran 65-69 mph. He threw a sinking, running change-up with decent armspeed that ran 68-72 mph. He had good command of all three pitches.

He has a short arm action and a quick armstroke and generates velocity with some effort. His shoulders are level and slightly closed as he strides out on line to a square landing before falling off slightly as he finishes. Day’s fastball had heavy run and sink to it and he commanded it well, working in the 75-78 range and generating a ton of ground balls. He threw a sharp 10/4 slider with decent armspeed for strikes that ran 61-67. He flashed a changeup with full armspeed that ran 72.
