At the plate, inverted plane, mid/pull avg. pop in bat, line drives and fly balls during round of BP to pull side. Posted 84 mph exit velocity off the tee. Above average receiver behind the plate, sound blocker. Threw to 2nd in the 2.0-2.09 range, consistently around the bag. Went 0-3 with a HBP during the game portion of the Elite 50.
5/20/18- Nebraska Elite 50
6-foot, 158 pound catcher ran a 7.26 60 yard sprint. Lean frame, should continue to develop physically. Crouched stance, restricted swing, works mostly away, ability to find the barrel, line drive contact, above average pop in the bat for age. Posted an 84 mph exit velocity. Shows athleticism behind the plate, above average catch and throw in the 2.02-2.07, throws have carry. Went 0-3 in the game portion of the Elite 50 with a walk. Advanced actions behind the plate catching at the varsity level his freshman year. High follow as he continues to develop physically and athletically.
2/19/18- 6-foot-0, 158 pound catcher ran a 4.25 H-1B. Tall slightly open stance, leg kick, moves with fluidity and clean action, loose hands. Shows ability to lift the baseball. Middle approach. Behind the plate threw to 2nd in the 2.01-2.08 range, Ball has heavy arm side run, clean transfers. Wide base, high hips, tendency to sway when receiving pitches, receives out front. High follow for the 2021 class.
5-foot-10, 134 pound frame. Athletic build, frame should continue to develop. 7.43 runner. Top overall prospect at the Freshman Free Showcase. At the plate, crouch slight open stance, loose and easy slight hill swing path. Posted an exit velocity of 81 mph off a tee. Strong receiver and thrower for age. Threw to 2nd in the 2.09-2.22 range. Strong follow in the next couple of years as he continues to develop.
