Harsch possesses a real tall and projectable build at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds. Sets up with his feet offset on the first base side of the mound. Stays upright to start his delivery, efficiently engages his lower half as he descends down the hill. Keeps his hands locked in place near his midsection. Slightly uphill shoulder tilt. Stride direction stays in line. Arm works free and easy, long and loose. Intent down the mound. FB with late life at 85-88 MPH. CB with sweep and big downer tilt at times in the 70-71 MPH range.
Harsch has a lanky, athletic 6-foot-2 170-pound frame with room to fill out. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.90 seconds and had an exit velocity that topped at 80 mph. Offensively, starts in a tall, balanced stance with hands in front of body and bat perpendicular with the ground. Uses a foot stride and toe tap to start swing. Level swing through the zone. Defensively, took reps from the outfield. Throws to 3B topped at 84 mph. Long, loose arm action with some backspin to the base. On the mound, fastball topped at 86 mph, and sat mostly 80-83. Flashed a curveball with some slurvy 10/4 break, and a straight changeup at 73-74. Methodical in his delivery and effortless in his finish from a high-3/4 slot. Velocity jumps when he gets aggressive going down the mound. Look for Harsch to continue to make jumps as he fills out his frame.
