Helmstetter has a lanky and athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 145-pounds. Starts tall on the mound, feet towards the third base side of the rubber. Delivery begins slow, but has late intent. Consistent rhythm and tempo. Engages his backside on time. Long, loose, clean arm action. 3/4 slot. Even shoulder tilt. Frontside stays in line with his shoulders. Fastball topped at 80 MPH and sat 78-80 MPH. Will add velo with added strength. Changeup displayed fade at 69-71 MPH. Curveball showed big 1/7 shape, was consistently at the bottom of the zone at 67-69 MPH.
