Champeau has a strong, athletic frame at 5-foot-11 170-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.40 seconds and recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. At the plate, right handed hitter starts in a tall, neutral stance with hands above back shoulder. Uses a small foot lift and stride to start swing as hands load down and back. Controlled landing, some explosiveness in hips through the zone. With added strength, Champeau will be able to drive the ball into the gaps more consistently. Line drive hitter. Defensively, took reps in the middle infield. Throws topped at 81 mph across the infield. True 3/4 slot. Glove tap gather, some armside run on throws. Able to slot the ball to 2B on double play feeds and throw from a lower slot on the run. Overall, solid showing from Champeau and metrics will increase with added muscle to frame.
Champeau possesses a strong and athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.72 seconds and recorded an exit velo of 82 MPH. Starts at the dish with this feet even and close, in an athletic stance. Hands begin behind his body, and move down and back during his load. Average stride. Brings his bat upwards and is able to consistently drop the barrel right through the zone. Created line drives up the middle of the field. Recorded a positional velo of 80 MPH in the infield. Works around the baseball. Utilizes a glove tap and a shuffle. Made throws to bases from a low 3/4 arm slot. On the mound Champeau threw from the stretch with his feet even and weight slightly shifted backwards. Hands work in sync with his lower half. Stride direction stays in line with even shoulder tilt. FB was consistently thrown for strikes at 74-76, topping at 77 MPH. A CB at 66-68 MPH showed sweeping action across the zone with occasional bite. CH was 70-71 MPH and displayed both run and sink.
