6-foot-4, 215-pound solid frame. At the plate, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 85 mph. Begins in an open stance, has a small load and uses a leg kick before his swing. Had raw bat speed, as well as an uphill swing plane and high finish. Barreled up some balls during his round. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, made throws across the field up to 76 mph; has sure hands and rhythmic footwork. Movements laterally were athletic. During the event, he ran the 60-yard dash in 7.66. Smooth on the mound, he showed quick arm speed, used a loose arm action and an over-the-top angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses easy effort. Has an athletic balance point with uphill shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. His fastball was 83-85 mph with a max of 85 mph. Had a tight curveball (66-69). Showed in the zone command and sinking action on his changeup (73-75). Projectable on the mound - consistent, repeatable mechanics and body control for a player his size. High follow.
Skapinetz has a 6-foot-4, 195-pound projectable frame. One of the top prospects from the entire event. At the plate, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. Slightly opened and uses a small leg lift and stride to start load. Smooth, athletic swing path and high finish. Gap to gap power. In the infield, displayed a velocity of 75 mph across the field. He clocked a 60 time of 7.78 at the event. On the mound, showing above average arm speed he used a high ¾ arm angle and a consistent arm action. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses easy effort in his delivery. His 66-67 mph curveball had depth when he located it low in the zone; shows 11/5 bite. His changeup (72-73 mph) has some fade to the armside. His fastball came in at 81-83 mph. High ceiling prospect.
