Swarts has a super athletic and wiry frame at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.72 seconds with a top exit velocity recorded at 91 MPH. At the plate, has tall and open stance. Hands start by his back shoulder and stay in position while creating some pre-pitch rhythm. Simple, outward stride gets him into a more athletic position at contact. A lot of firm contact throughout his round, line drives to all fields. In the infield, stayed athletic in his approach, worked well laterally as well. Quick release, no additional steps. Top velocity of 84 MPH on throws to bases. On the bump, Swarts begins upright and directly straightforward right in the middle of the rubber. Slow and easy delivery, low effort. Strong brace leg, gets over his frontside. Shoulders are angled slightly downwards as he descends the slope. Arm is long, loose and free. Fb had some life through the zone at 84-85 MPH. CB was more horizontal than vertical, but sharp lateral break at times, sat 71-73 MPH. Straight CH at 77-79 MPH.
Physical: Lean, athletic 6-foot-2, 160lb frame with loose actions and confidence on the bump.
Pitching: RHP - Tall setup off the middle of the rubber to start; utilized momentum-building pace down the slope, finding a balanced stack position before exploding with separation off the backside. Really threw behind the ball, using proper efficiency in the timing to get the most out of a clean H ¾ slot. The FB landed consistently from 80-82 mph (strikes, T2158rpms) mixing a tight, two-plane 68-70 mph CB with future ability to be swing/miss. A well commanded 75-77 mph CH showed as a quality third pitch with great extension at release, gaining big fade (13 inches HM) and killed spin (1314rpms).
