Walley has a very impressive, long frame to him. He stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 190 pounds. For a prospect of his size, he ran a very good sixty-yard dash time of 7.22. He hits from an open stance and with any athlete his size; there are a lot of working parts to his swing. He utilizes a high leg kick and drops his hands some when his stride foot makes foot strike. He has a tendency to want to go the other way in batting practice. He has consistent but slow actions at first base.
Walley’s best upside is on the mound where he looks most comfortable. He has smooth rhythm and a repeatable delivery, keeping energy stores with closed hips. Although not overpowering, his fastball is deceptive due to the angle and deceptive created by his size. His high ¾ arm slot fits him well and allows his 76-79 mile-per-hour fastball to play up. His breaking ball has nice depth and shape at 68-70 miles-per-hour. His changeup has some fade at 72-74. He is a very intriguing pitching prospect.
