The left-handed hitter starts in a wider and balanced stance with his front foot inverted. Hands begin away from the body, move down and back during his load. Gradual leg kick. Rotational torque, generates force through his back hip. Plenty of line drives throughout his round. In the infield, worked well laterally with quick transfers. Top positional velocity of 78 MPH. On the mound, Diffley has a wide setup right in the middle of the rubber. Works quick with tempo. Hands stay locked in position until he reaches his balance point. Strong backside, rides the slope. Slightly closed at footstrike. FB showed some occasional cut at 77-79 MPH. CH with real depth at 63-64 MPH. CB had 1/7 shape with sweep at 65-66 MPH.

Slams the front foot down and works a long, uphill swing with good barrel control. Hit line drives to the pull side gap with ease and displayed repeatable swing mechanics yielding an 80 MPH max exit velo. In the infield, Diffley moves well off the bag, showcasing above average feet. Fields out in front and quickly funnels and transfers to make the throw from a loose, whippy 3/4 slot with good arm speed. Registered a 76 MPH arm strength from first base.
On the mound, Diffley showcased repeatable mechanics with good tempo down the slope. Throws from a loose, 3/4 slot with good arm speed. Also flashes the ability to throw from a lower slot that gives a different look for the opposing hitters. Possesses a fastball that has quality ASR that sits at 69-71 MPH. Flashed a curveball that he drops the slot on and induces more horizontal movement on it that makes it a borderline sweeping slider at 58-59 MPH. Mixes in a developing change up that has potential to be a quality secondary pitch that sits 62-64 MPH.
