Physical: Lean, compact 5-foot-8, 160lb frame with room to continue filling out as he matures. 7.93 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, balanced stance with a loose operation as the hands showed some rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized an early lift and replace stride to an even position, launching through a handsy, flat path into the hitting zone. Mostly high posture throughout a top of the order, contact-filled round spraying line drives around the park (50% line drive rate via Trackman). Was able to stay short to the baseball and match pitch plane out of the hand and worked himself up to a T80 mph bat-exit velocity (singles power) with more on the way. Will keep seeing measurables increase as he keeps holding strength.
Defensively: The primary middle infielder took on time, calculated steps on the approach, setting himself up for clean hops at the fielding window. Good, compact base when fielding, funneling softly through the middle/left side of his body and letting the feet shuffle directionally (twice) at the target. Released from a H ¾ slot and showed some ability to handle plays in either direction (72 mph arm).
Physical: 5’8 160lb MIF ran an 8.07 laser timed 60-yard dash. Young frame has room to grow and add size and strength.
Offensively: He starts in a narrow stance with his front foot slightly open. His hands stay high as his front foot lifts and hangs before striding forward into the pitch. His barrel path works straight down to the ball as he rotational drives through his back side.
Defensively: He has active feet as he moves into position to field the ball. He plays with two hands as he funnel into the center of his body and moves his feet toward his target. His arm action is short and works as he pulls his front side through the throw.
