Moore stands in at 5-foot-11, 160-pounds. Ran a 6.82 – 60. Offensively- Smooth trigger getting body set prior to pitch. Utilizes good lower body rotation getting whole frame involved in the swing. Shows an upward lift barrel path with potential gap to gap power. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 MPH, 4 MPH shy of his previous best setn in February 2017. Defensively- Good approach with appropriate footwork to the baseball. Smooth with the funnel into the chest with a quick transition to the throwing position. Could be more aggressive with footwork towards intended target. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 68 MPH.
Downstate Unsigned Senior (October 22, 2017)
Athletic 5-foot-11 160 pound right-handed hitter. The 2B ran a 7.04 60. Offensively- Even setup, feet outside shoulders using a heel lift and a short load for timing. Slight hesitation after timing before commitment, aggressive lower half with balanced approach. Line drive results; worked the middle of the field. Exit velocity was 78 MPH. Defensively- Soft hands, gathers the ball in and keeps his body moving into the throw. Below average arm strength at 69 MPH but can compensate for a quicker release and alternate arm angles. Potential 2B/LF projection at the collegiate level.
Winter Open (February 26, 2017)
M oore is a lean and athletic 5-foot-10 150 pound 2B who ran a 7.06 60 and a 4.43 home-to-1B. Offensively- Even stance with upright barrel; slight take back of the hands with a heel lift stride. Some bat lag in the swing path but stays through the ball with with an opposite field to middle of the field approach. Exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively- Fast twitch actions with lower half; moves well laterally and in on the ball. Bends at the waist with hands out in front; staying through the ball. Slight hesitation into his throws with a low 3/4 arm slot. Somewhat of a push motion through his release at 63 MPH. Will need to improve arm strength. Possible 2B/LF projection down the road.
