Physical: 5-foot-10, 162 pounds; sturdy, strong frame. 9.4 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Shoulder width feet with some bend in the knees and high hands that are set above his head with an upright bat; uses a simple stride forward to the ball while the barrel tips to the pitcher to aid in building some momentum into the swing. Quick, snappy turns from the hips allow him to clear them quickly and efficiently with a downhill bat path that gives him some backspin on the ball, giving it better flight when struck hard to the outfield. Showcased good bat to ball skills in his round of BP, shooting line drives and hard hit balls to both sides of the field; peak Trackman exit velocity of 72 MPH.
Defensively: Very wide stance that allows him to sit low in the crouch and give the pitcher a compact target; Fields off a strong base and gets momentum into the target. Soft hand that work back to his body with an easy transfer to throw; The quickness of his transfer aids in his throws to the target, creates a lot of shoulder tilt and clears them nicely while throwing from a high 3/4 slot. 2.42-2.49 pop times. C - 63 MPH.
Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Simple load actions. Quick direct path to the hitting zone. Made solid contact to the middle of the field. Stays balanced throughout the swing and finishes in an upright position. Defensively- the catcher presents a big target for the pitcher. Above average exchange and quick release from a mid 3/4 arm slot. Pop time range was 2.71-2.83.
