PROCASE
6-foot-4, 195-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. Ran a 6.84 sixty on the laser at the event, we have seen better out of him in terms of foot speed prior to this. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 93 mph. Starts with his feet wide, uses a pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. Small forward lean to the ball. The hands are quick to the ball, and as he gets stronger, should be a dangerous offensive player. Threw 84 mph from the outfield, very athletic and could play all 3 spots out there. Definite guy to see this spring, as he is in the midst of hoop season now. Pro prospect.
Pro Case (June 27, 2017)
Physical specimen at 6-foot-3 195 pounds. Ran a well above average 6.47 60 on natural grass. Offensively- Even setup with a slight heel lift and a static hand position. Stays over back side with aggressive lower half. Middle of the field to pull side gap approach. Exit velocity peaked at 95 MPH with the wood. Defensively- Upright with setup and approach, minimal crow hop actions with a short arm path into a low 3/4 arm slot. 86 MPH with more in the tank once his footwork is more in tune with leading into his throwing motion. Pitching- Angled setup on the rubber with a mid-chest balance point. Stays closed and works over a firm front side with a 3/4 to low 3/4 slot. Hides the ball well sitting 82-83 MPH, touching 85 MPH. Frame and ease of arm action should lead to additional velo. Curve/Slurve works it's way across the zone at 69-70 MPH. Maintains plane with his change up at 77-78 MPH.
May 2017
Long and athletic left-handed hitting outfielder who can really run. Swung the bat very well in the game and showed good instincts on the bases. Probably more suited for right field as opposed to centerfield.
NY All-Star Games (September 17, 2016)
