Physical: Long and projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with a high-waisted build and plenty of athleticism sprinkled throughout the movements. 7.10 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Tall and balanced stance with control of himself in the box, utilizes a leg kick stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path with long levers into the hitting zone, when on time at the front of the plate he created loud contact to the pull-side with jump off of the barrel. Athletic lower half allowed for adjustability in the box on offspeed pitches in different quadrants and got the hands on-plane with the baseball early and often. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 89 mph according to Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary third baseman featured long and rangy actions to the glove side and a low center of gravity on the approach creating solid angles on a multitude of routes. A soft glove hand led the way fielding out in front of the left foot with quality catch and throw skills out of a high ¾ slot with a moderate arm swing. INF - 79 mph
Pitching: RHP - Side rocker step with a rhythmic leg lift high above the waist with balance at the top, got straight line and downhill towards the plate with advanced feel for extension on the front side of a high ¾ release. FB ranged from 77-80 mph with heavy action into the zone, mixed in a sharp, swing and miss 63-65 mph CB with 11/5 shape and late depth. Countered with a 67-70 mph CH showing occasional arm-side fade and deception.
Physical: 6-foot-3, 173-pounds. Tall, long, projectable frame.
Run: 7.14 runner in the 60.
Hit: RHH. Tall, upright stance, hands start even with shoulders and bat starts on his shoulder, hands work back along with small leg kick to enter hitting zone Does a good job using lower half, uses lower half to get on plane with pitches low in the zone, finishes uphill with two hands.
Power: 89 MPH raw exit velocity. Pull side power potential.
Defense: INF: Choppy, consistent footwork, works from the ground up, fields the ball in the middle of his body, releases the ball in one motion, OF: Fields the ball off-center on his back foot, gets rid of ball quickly with shuffle.
Arm: INF: Medium arm swing with an over the top slot, OF: Quick arm action; over the top slot, good carry. INF - 79 MPH. OF - 78 MPH.
Projectable frame with an athletic build at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. Ran a 7.14 60 yard dash. Offensively - Wide, balanced set-up. Uses a low, forward stride to create separation. Low effort, balanced hitting actions. Produced consistent line-drive contact and flashed lift to his pull-side. Keeps hands inside of the ball with a compact swing. Full hip rotation thru contact after finish. More power to come. Exit velocity was 75 MPH. Defensively - Fluid defensive actions with clean footwork. Maintains body control while moving laterally. Quick exchange getting into throwing motion. High 3/4 release with consistent carry on throws. Projects well to stick at 3B. Arm strength was 70 MPH. Overall, balanced skill set with advanced actions and considerable upside left.
Fantauzzi is a lean, athletic 6-foot-1, 155-pounds 3B/RHP who ran a home to first time of 4.24 seconds. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher in a wide stance with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a knee raise into a stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with level barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish. Recorded an exit velocity of 79 MPH. Defensively- Athletic with footwork to the baseball; creating proper angles. Fluid transition from glove to throwing hand. Throws over the top towards target and moves well laterally. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 69 MPH. Pitching- Righty sets up on the left side of the rubber from the stretch with a simple high leg raise to balance. Lifts leg with toe pointed to the sky and gets good separation with hands into a high-¾ release point and extends well outside the lead leg. Has a tendency to fade to left side during the delivery. Fastball range was 66-68 MPH and peaked at 68 MPH with arm side run. Curveball range was 62-63 MPH with 11/5 breaking action. More in the tank for the 2021 grad.
