Lanky body with long limbs, easy projection. Steady movements focused on downhill movement. Stays fairly balanced. Arm slot is high 3/4. CB shows tight spin and 11/5 shape. FB gets on hitters quick and is deceptively sneaky, peaked 86 mph sitting in the 80-84 range. CH has feel and tails away (circle change).
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. The fastball has arm side run, sitting at 80-82 MPH. The breaking ball has a very good shape to it, 68-69 mph with depth. The changeup is a good pitch, 66-68 mph, needs to throw it with better hand speed. The delivery is online, only from the stretch. The arm is short on the backside and quick out front. Added some pounds to this guy and he could be a serious arm. The tracking of the front shoulder comes offline at times. Competes well and works quick and aggressively.
Cole stands 6-foot-1, 170-pounds with a well proportioned body build. Pitching- On the mound there is reason to be excited. Although currently measurable stats are just slightly above average, there's signs of bigger and better things to come. He uses a simple, well paced tempo to his delivery, sound mechanics with a clean easy arm-action. Releases from a high-3/4 slot with run to his arm-side on a fastball sitting 78-81 mph. Shows the ability to spin a breaking ball with 11/5 shape in the upper 60's. Change-up has some downhill depth with fade. Seems composed and confident the two times we have seen him throw. Would like to see him lengthen his stride and create a straighter, more stretched out drive leg, currently it almost touches the ground eliminating full-power. With some hard-work and adjustments, Hedden could really turn some heads this spring. He also swings with loose hands, mostly level bat-plane from a compact stroke. 79 mph exit velocity.
