NY Games (June 25-27, 2017)
Sturdily-built 5-foot-10, 210-pound third baseman. Offensively - left-handed batter, engages hips with inner knee rotation, short to the ball, keeps bat on level path through the strike zone, full extension after contact with an exit velocity of 89 MPH, lives in the middle third with a repeatable motion, further counter rotation between upper and lower torso will add power. Defensively - poised and confident, clean, economic footwork, soft hands, smooth transfer, accurate arm across infield at 80 MPH.

Hands are just above shoulder height. Lift and replace stride that lands slightly closed. Back side sinks before initiating swing forward. Swing plane is uphill with a high finish. Extends strongly through contact. Had an exit velocity of 89 MPH off the tee. Defensively- Moves to ball light on his feet. Sets up with wide base and knee bend. Last Chance Preview (October 30, 2016)
O’Connor, a 2018 left-handed hitting third baseman, stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs 200 pounds, ran a 7.19 60. Offensively- Starts with an upright square stance slight bend in the knees hands in front and above the back shoulder with the bat slightly more than 45 degrees. Gets into the launch phase with a simple moderate stride with very little hand movement. Drove the ball well from the pull gap to the line showing plus power. Hands tend to rush through the zone ahead of the rotation of the hips but is able to stay compact and get fairly good extension thru the hitting zone. Typical lefty, pounding the inner lower third of the zone. Recorded an impressive exit velocity of 89 MPH. Defensively- Controlled approach to the ball, creating pre-pitch momentum with a right left step with the hands out in front of the body waist high. Fields the ball out in front of the body, slightly to the right side of the body. Funnels the ball to the center of the body, creating a quick transfer with short arm action. Throws showed good carry and accuracy. Recorded an arm velocity of 76 MPH from third base.
