Physical: Lengthy, athletic 6-foot-1, 170lb frame with lots of projection left. 7.22 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, even stance at shoulder-width as the hands showed rhythm to start; utilized a short lift and replace stride reaching slightly out towards the pitcher, initiating through a flat path into the hitting zone. Good feel for the barrel using minor tilt over the backside towards a high finish, promoting a lofty approach during batting practice (36% fly ball rate). Liked to get extended on pitches out over the plate, producing a near 300 foot batted ball distance on his best swing to LCF. Found success on a line to the pull-side, posting a T85 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman with room for more.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured above-average actions, receiving from a controlled, traditional setup with a soft glove hand on the corner. Pop times ranged from 1.90-1.96 flashing smooth pre-catch rhythm and an immediate trigger from H ¾ (clean exchange, 76 mph arm, used turf at times). Solid in the catch/throw phase and added feel for blocks, featuring down angles and soft shields on balls in the dirt.
Physical: 6-foot-0, 160 pounds; long, lean frame. 7.07 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Upright, slightly open stance with hands relaxed in front of the shoulder; leg lift and stride with rhythm in the hands loading straight back. Strong effort from the lower half hitting into a stiff front leg with Flat path into the zone with plus bat speed up to 74 mph per Blast Motion. Solid contact to the pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 85 MPH.
Defensively: Balanced with feet slightly off set; Quick, in line foot work. Quality glove with quick, clean transfers; Short arm action right to the ear with a high 3/4 release. 2.08-2.19 pop times. C - 73 MPH.
Physical: 6-foot-0, 155-pounds. Lean athletic frame, potential to continue growing.
Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.
Hit: RHH. Tall upright stance, even base, hands shoulder high and stay through the zone, small leg kick flat barrel, smooth hands that get to the ball quickly.
Power: 79 MPH raw exit velocity. consistent line drives to the pull-side and middle of the field.
Defense: 2.12-2.15 pop times. gains ground on the ball, strong ability to frame, quick two step with accurate throw around the base, ability to keep the ball in front.
Arm: quick arm action with 3/4 slot. C - 70 MPH.
The right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance. Short simple load actions and a quick release into the hitting zone. Casey showed hard consistent contact to the pull side and middle part of the field. Defensively, Casey worked out as a catcher. Casey displayed a strong arm on throws to the bag. Throwing velocity was 72 MPH and pop time best was 2.09. Casey has upside and is a must follow.
