Northern NY Preview (July 11, 2018)
Athletic frame at 5-foot-11 157 pounds. The SS/RHP ran a 7.34 60 and a 4.49 home-to-1B from the left side. Offensively- Open, up right stance with bat flat on shoulder; short take back with stride back to even. Easy effort through the zone with a 2-handed finish and some punch to his pull side gap. Exit velocity was 74 MPH. Defensively- Active defender; quick feet/first step with lateral range; hands work out in front with clean transfer/release and an accurate arm. Arm strength at 71 MPH but more in the tank as evidenced from the mound. Pitching- Up temp pace with a mid-chest leg drive working from the far glove side of the rubber; creates some downward tilt to FB that touched 80 MPH, sitting78-79 MPH. Creates deception with more of a catcher's arm action. Mixes a short slider/breaking ball at 66-68 MPH that had some late tilt.
