Wheeler has a solid Catcher frame. He is 6’1”, 185 pounds and runs a 7.59 60. Offensively- Upright stance, slightly open with hands off of back shoulder. Toe touch stride with bat pointing at a back angle. Direct path to ball and finishes well on back leg. High two-handed finish with lift and an exit velocity of 88 MPH. Defensively- Receives ball on balance and quick transfer no matter where the ball is thrown. Quick, over the top arm action. Blocks balls very well, keeping ball in front and pops up quick ready to make a throw. Wheeler will be an exciting player to watch over the next 2 years. Pop time: 1.98-2.06 throws 71 MPH
