Last Chance Preview (October 30, 2016)

Brown, a 2018 right-handed pitcher,  stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 240 pounds.  Pitching- Setup on the third base side of the rubber with both hands in front of the chest. Takes a slight step towards the first base line while the pivot foot drags to the center of the rubber while both hands elevate head high and gets the knee chest high during the gathered phase of the delivery. Creates good hand separation and drive towards home, on landing gets slightly open with the lead toe. Worked the four seam heavy fastball to both the inner and outer half of the plate, staying pretty much in the lower third of the zone on both sides with a top velocity of 77 MPH. Changeup  showed quality depth and rotation and also had a good differential off the fastball topping out at 70 MPH. Mixed in a curveball that showed to have spin when good extension on release was created. Curveball topped out at  70 MPH with 11-to-5 spin, but could be a quality pitch with a more consistent  release point.
