A lean athletic 5-foot-6, 130 pounds frame. Ran a 7.13 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively - the switch hitting player stands in the box with a tall stance and feet shoulder width apart. Slightly open from the right side. Short simple load and short stride toward the pitcher. Uses a leg lift from the right side before entering the hitting zone. Keeps a flat bat path through the hitting zone. Good use of the lower half. Gets full extension after contact. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Displayed consistent hard contact during the hitting portion. Top exit velocity was 76 MPH. Defensively- active footwork. Moves well laterally. Stays square to the baseball. Gets himself in good position when fielding the baseball. Smooth funnel actions. Quick release from a ¾ arm slot. The 2020 infielder projects as a 2B at the college level.
Big Apple Preview (October 14, 2018)
Slight, athletic build with easy actions on both sides of the ball. Offensively- Switch hitter with actions that mirror from both sides of the plate. From the right side; slightly open setup with barrel flat early on and through the zone. Line drives through the middle of the field. From the left side his weight can slide forward slightly before contact; similar on plane swing path with more results in the air. Defensively- Short, choppy breakdown steps with an early setup. Glove plays soft; transfer plays but release could be quicker. Developing arm strength.
