Physical: Athletic, smooth 5-foot-10, 165lb proportional frame. 6.88 runner in the 60-yard dash and stolen-base abilities. SUNY-Oneonta commit.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with rhythm in the hands by the shoulder to start; utilized a short toe tap stride, initiating the bat head through a flat, twitchy path into the hitting zone. Stayed on his rear hip allowing the hands to work out towards the front of the plate, producing current juice on the inner half up to a T93 mph bat-exit velocity. Able to maintain connection on all swings during BP, holding posture over the plate and showing a peak batted ball distance of 314 feet (doubles power). A 40% line drive rate per Trackman Baseball points towards the chance to hit for average down the line in a top of the order type role using good bat to ball skills.
Defensively: The primary infielder read the ball well off the bat, sticking the foot in the ground and going downhill with tempo. Fielded cleanly off the left side, got to a good position, and released accurately from H ¾ slot (85 mph arm, carry, accurate). Worked hard early in routes, getting right-to-left and handled the backhand play smoothly with ability to finish off throws.
Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance feet shoulder width apart. Simple load actions. Throws his hands into the hitting zone. Jacoby did a good job living in the middle of the field during batting practice. Stays balanced throughout the swing. Defensively- the infielder displayed active footwork during the infield portion. Quick exchange to a mid ¾ arm slot on throws across the diamond.
