Defensively - Displays an active lower half with natural raw actions. Fields the ball low and out-in-front, funnels deep into his body, back and quick arm action from multi-arm slots, infield velocity was up to 81 mph showing strong left-side of the infield arm strength. Pitching - Quick paced delivery, long and back towards 2B arm-action, shows good shoulder/hip separation from a power-3/4 arm slot topping out at 80 mph. Last Chance Preview Showcase (November 29, 2015)
Reilly stands 5-foot-9 165 pounds with positive athletic actions. He ran a respectable 4.30 home to 1B and had an exit velocity of 82 MPH. Offensively- The LHH hits from a spread stance utilizing a controlled load and leg kick, staying over his back side through contact. Aggressive lower half with plate coverage and balance. Stays in the zone post contact, attacks each swing with a purpose (82 MPH exit velocity). Table setter type approach. Defensively- Standard middle infielder movements, demonstrating active footwork and above average lateral range. Tends to field the ball underneath at times. Good bounce in his step with an adequate left side arm at 78 MPH. Pitching- On the mound Reilly uses a slight side step into an aggressive but controlled balance point. Maintains his short infield arm action when breaking hands into a low 3/4 arm slot. Stays closed into landing and gets over front side consistently. Loose and fluid arm with good action on his FB that touched 79 MPH, sitting 77-78 MPH. Breaking ball showed some slider/slurve tendencies with late action and tilt. Change up had late split like action his arm side at 65-67 MPH. Flashed a knuckleball as an extra weapon, which stayed around the zone with some float.
