is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed pitching prospect. On the mound, Griffiths uses a long, high ¾ arm slot that produces a fastball that sits 82-83 mph (Max spin 2046; Avg 1963) with some late arm side run. The delivery is easy, simple and in line with home plate. He gets tall at the top and lands square with a clean finish.action. Griffiths also mixed in a tight 12/6 curveball (70-74 mph) (Max spin 2457; Avg 2402) and a fading changeup (75-78 mph).
Physical: Lengthy, athletic 6-foot-2, 175lb frame. 7.48 runner in the 60-yard dash and two way appeal.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, wider stance with calm hands waving in rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized a short/quick toe-tap to initiate the swing through a flat, repeatable path towards a high finish on the backside. Produced a clean rotational move through the ball en route to a 40% line drive rate (via Trackman) and a pull-side approach during his batting practice round. Recorded a near 300 foot batted ball distance with doubles power available creating leverage at the front of the plate; worked up to a T85 mph bat-exit velocity with more on the way soon.
Defensively: The primary outfielder stayed behind the ball well in the air with good reads, bending at the waist and fielding off his left side with a soft glove hand. Moved well laterally in space, using long strides and setting up on time with the presentation; released accurately from a fluid H ¾ slot (85 mph arm, corner OF projection).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber from the stretch-only; used good pace down the slope, able to repeat and hold straight line rotation into footstrike. Got over the front-side on the finish releasing from a simple OTT slot with slight downward tilt into the zone on the FB at 77-79 mph. Mixed in a 65-66 mph showing short depth and gradual shape (11/5) and countered with a tunneled 71-72 mph CH flashing slightly killed spin traits.
