6-foot-2, 155-pound left handed pitcher. The fastball sat 77-78 mph with arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch was 65-66 mph and big in shape, as more fastball hand speed can be added to the pitch. The changeup was 70-71 mph and solid at times. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4 in height. The lift is repeated, solid in tempo and he does a nice job of tracking the front shoulder to the plate. The arm swing is clean and he can benefit from an off-season long toss program. He does show a good feel for all 3 pitches and a good idea of how to pitch.
Last Chance Preview - Long Island (October 8, 2018)
Wiry, developing frame at 5-foot-11, 135-pounds. Offensively – Wide, upright set-up with feet square to the pitcher and bat resting parallel on back shoulder. Toe tap load to get weight shifted onto backside. Hands stay loose, relaxed and snap the barrel into the zone quickly. Level swing path that produced consistent line drive contact during BP. Hits against a firm front side with high, 2-handed finish. Defensively – Long, controlled strides while tracking the ball in the OF. Keeps momentum behind the baseball prior to catching. Quick exchange into low ¾ arm slot. Uses side shuffle to get more effort on throws. Pitching – Sets up square to catcher. Stays tall at leg lift and maintains balance while he loads onto backside. Breaks hands over the rubber and shows body control while getting into forward stride. Cross action delivery from landing across body. Arm action gets full extension on backside after hand break then gets more compact into ¾ release point. Keeps glove side tight at landing. Consistent extension over front leg at release.
