Widercrantz, a 2019 right-handed hitting outfielder currently ranked as the 9th best outfielder for the class of 2019, stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs a solid 165 pounds, ran a 4.58 from home to first. Offensively- Begins from an open balance lower half with the hands held in front of the back shoulder with the barrel of the bat slightly greater than 45 degrees from the ground. Gets into the launch phase with a lift of the front foot, striding forward, while the hands are loaded straight back staying slightly inside of the back shoulder. During batting practice, showed an aggressive approach driving the ball well from the pull side gap to the center of the field. Hands are quick and compact staying back well behind the rotation of the hips. Recorded an exit velocity of 71 MPH on the day. Defensively- Shows a good feel and approach to the ball, moving athletically while showing the ability to put the body into a strong position to make throws from the throwing or glove side. Fields the ball slightly inside the left side of the body, transferring quickly from the center of the body, slightly below the chest creating long arm action. Throws showed quality carry and accuracy, registering an arm velocity of 73 MPH.
