Alejandro Melchor: RHP/3B, (2023) Fremont Ross, OH. 5-foot-11, 200-pound. In the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 91 mph. (64.5 mph bat speed average). (18.8 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced active stance with a tight load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 84 mph; showed a clean exchange, consistent hands, and rhythmic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. Clocked a 60 time of 8.1 at the event. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Threw his fastball 83-86 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1875; Avg 1827). Shows slurvey action on his 11/5 curveball (63-68). (Max spin 2206; Avg 2093). His changeup (73-76) had some action. His 10/4 slider (71-72) shows tight action. (Max spin 2052; Avg 2033).
