Alex Diehl: 3B/SS, (2022) Dublin Coffman, OH. 6-foot, 182-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 94 mph. Started in an athletic stance with a smooth quick load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is average and uses an upward swing plane. Above average in the infield, his best throw was registered at 79 mph; had smooth consistent footwork, a fluid exchange, and soft hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball one hand. Clocked a 60 time of 7.07 at the event.
2/17/20 Position Player
Hit: Athletic look to him in a box, fluid mover that gets to a mostly balanced launch, compact stroke that travels on a level to slightly downhill path to contact, above average combination of strength and speed to hands, line drive flight.
Power: 88 mph tee exit velocity, present gap abilities, much more pop than we saw the winter previous from the Dublin Coffman infielder.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: Athletic actions, good tempo, ball skills on par for class, showed the ability to make plays on the mover.
Throw: Top infield velocity was 80 mph across the diamond, clean arm, much like everything else he’s showed impressive jumps.
Defensive Projection: Infielder.

Body Type: 5-foot-11 155-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a balanced, slightly open stance with hands tight to the body. Uses a toe tap load and his barrel stays through the zone well.
Hit: Showed good bat to ball abilities.
Power: 74 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Swing shows some good potential. Hard to make a long term projection due to his physical maturity and age. Adding strength and size should be the top priority to get the most out of his pretty effective swing.
Field: In the infield he showed average angles and was very 2 handed with a deep squat when fielding the ball. Somewhat slow release.
Throw: 73 mph across the diamond.
Run: 4.71 home to first.
Defensive Projection: Showed some promising aspects to his defensive game. Presently would seem to be a better fit as a 2B than at SS. How he develops physically could dramatically change that.
