Brandon Swope: 1B/LHP, (2023) Rossford, OH. 6-foot, 195-pound. In the box, Swope clocked an exit velocity of 93 mph. (69.3 mph bat speed average). (22.1 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled compact load, then used a small leg kick. Has quick bat speed, loose uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 81 mph; has a natural exchange, soft hands, and consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.29 at the event. On the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a quick arm action while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Showed a consistent balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 77-80 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 1960; Avg 1771). His 1/7 curveball (71-73) shows some action. (Max spin 2013; Avg 1976). He shows slight action on his changeup (71-73).

Athletic while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 77 mph; shows consistent feet, soft hands, and a natural exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Clocked a 60 time of 7.37 at the event.

Has a level swing plane and above average bat speed. Found multiple barrels with some loud contacts. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 78 mph; has a clean exchange, athletic feet, and soft hands. Laterally, his movements were athletic. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.55. Athletic on the mound, used a quick arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing good arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Athletic balance point. Displayed an athletic finish Curveball (70-71 mph), changeup (69-70 mph).Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph.

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 150-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Lefty swinger that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a slight back load during shor stride for timing.
Hit: Compact level stroke with above average natural tools for class. Showed some feel for contact, working mostly to the middle of the field. Young hitter with much more to come.
Power: Line drive guy whose best days are ahead of him. 78 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer upside.
Run: 8.14 60-yard dash.
Field: First baseman with fluid actions and ball skills for the spot. Plays off the bag well, showing above average lateral mobility. Ball skills are more than adequate. Solid defender for class.
Throw: Clean arm with much more strength to come. 63 mph strength across the diamond.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
