1/21/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-2 168-pound prospect with a projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Big rocker leading into a high lift. Level shoulders and good direction moving down the slope. Works out of a long arm action through a ¾ slot with regular effort.
Fastball: 73-75 mph fastball works downhill with occasional run to the arm side.
Curveball: 69-70 mph breaking ball has a tight spin to it. Acts more like a slider with a short 11/5 break.
Changeup: 65-67 mph changeup is thrown with deceptive arm action. Pitch shows above average sink and run.
Pitchability: Fastball/changeup is an above average combo for his age. Worked fastball to both sides of the plate. Slider is still developing, break is inconsistent and flattened out at times.
Role: Likely fills the role of a starter in the immediate future. Solid command for a younger player and feel for three pitches. Development over next couple years will tell us more.
