Body Type: 6-foot, 145 pounds. Tall, lean frame.
Swing Mechanics: Hits from a more upright, wide stance. Has a slight uphill path in his bat. Developing timing in his mechanics.
Hit: Showed ability to stay on some pitches and drive them the other way. Average contact overall for this young athlete.
Power: 74 mph exit velocity. Exerts more power opposite field.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Many games to come that will improve his tools.
Run: 7.92 60-yard.
Field: Takes nice angles to work the baseball in the outfield and average glovework. Stays through the ball well too generating momentum into throws.
Throw: Has solid arm strength for his class at 77 mph from the outfield.
Defensive Projection: Outfield.
2/10/19 Pitching
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws out of a ¾ arm slot with longer arm action up through his release. Produces a slower paced tempo on the mound as he goes about his motion.
Fastball: 66-71 mph. Saw some slight arm-side run on it.
Curveball: 55-56 mph. Showed a slower 11-6 breaking action on his curveball. Couple of them had sharper bite to it when his arm speed was increased.
Changeup: 62-63 mph. Has depth to it and is developing grip with this pitch to be more consistent.
Pitchability: Can improve arm speed on off-speed pitches to make them more effective. More potential in those pitches than seen. Showed us to be more effective out of the stretch position overall with his three pitches. Plenty of time left to improve this athlete’s tools.
