RHP/3B, (2023) Worthington Christian, OH. 5-foot-10, 185-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 83 mph. Started in an athletic quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is efficient, displays a loose level swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 77 mph; has consistent feet, sure hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. (17.8 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is developing efficient, shows a short simple swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 78 mph; shows a natural exchange, soft hands, and consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed, he had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 77-80 mph. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 2332; Avg 2316). Throws a 11/5 curveball (64-67) that has slurvey action. (Max spin 2624; Avg 2512). He has slight fading action on his changeup (68-71). Had late tight action on his 10/4 slider (68-69). (Max spin 2491; Avg 2490). Ran a 4.42 30 yard dash.
Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic, slightly open stance. Loading sequence is smooth and athletic. Engages the backside well and utilizes a toe tap for timing purposes. Level bat path through the zone, with more to come as he continues to develop physically.
Power: Line drive pop
Offensive Projection: Table setter
Field: In the field, he worked out at the SS position. Ball skills are on par for class, with sufficient hands.
Throw: Clean arm with developing strength
Defensive Projection: 2B
Delivery/Scouting Notes: The 2023 uses a slow tempo throughout delivery. A big leg kick gets him down the mound and a quick twitch arm action makes each pitch repeatable. Aggressive in the zone throughout his outing.
Fastball: Jumps out of hand with slight sinking action
Breaking Ball: Tight spin with a late sharp 11/5 action
Changeup: Drops arm slot upon release to create more arm side fade
