Derek Evans: OF/SS, (2022) Highland, OH. 5-foot-9, 165-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Evans clocked an exit velocity of 89 mph. Began in an open tall stance with a compact load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was above average, used a simple swing plane and high finish. In the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 86 mph. Capable recorded an outfield position velocity of 86 mph; showed consistent hands, a twitchy exchange, and quick feet. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a long arm action with a ¾ slot. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.76.
Hit: Righty swinger that starts in an open setup. Simple, yet efficient movement sequence prior to launch. Some lag through the zone with rotational sequence. Middle to pull approach.
Power: Balanced offering of strength and speed. Line drive pop.

Hit:Physical bat that showed the ability to use both gaps. Good athlete with an above average combination of strength/speed to hands. Definite a bat to follow considering tools and barrel accuracy.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Multiple Roles.
Field: In the outfield he plays under control throughout the sequence. Hands and feet come together well. Two-handed play through.
Throw: High-3/4 righty with some whip through the slot.
