Body Type: 5-foot-9, 175-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Simple mechanically, using a slight back load during short stride.
Hit: Athletic kid with obvious twitch to hands. Bat is fast and gets through contact with ease. Definitely has something in there.
Power: Much more pop than frame would suggest. Ball jumped in BP. Present ability to drive the gaps.
Offensive Projection:
Run: 6.91 60-yard dash.
Field: Worked out at third base, showing well above average athleticism for the position. Attacks the ball off the bat with direct footwork, cutting down distance prior to fielding. Ball skills are developing.
Throw: 74 mph arm strength across the diamond. Average strength with present accuracy.
Defensive Projection: 3B/OF.

Liked what I saw from Samstag in the box. A right-handed hitter with a balanced, level swing. Stroke is compact with obvious quickness to hands through the zone. Although speed plays a little louder presently, strength is also apparent to hands as well. Found the barrel often in BP, showing the ability to use both gaps. In the infield he uses direct footwork, attacking the baseball off the bat. Remains fluid throughout fielding sequence displaying developing ball skills. Arm was accurate with signs of more strength to come.
