Grant Nehrenz: C/RHP, (2022) Lake, OH. 5-foot-10, 170-pound projectable frame. At the plate, Nehrenz's best exit velocity was 90 mph. Began in an open athletic stance with a smooth quick load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is explosive and shows a level rotational swing plane. Laterally, his movements were athletic. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 75 mph; had a quick exchange, quick footwork, and soft hands. Produced pop times of 2.00-2.12. Above average flexibility and clean setup. Clocked a time of 7.53 in the 60-yard dash.
Hit:Explosive, efficient swing that lifts the ball naturally. Backspun everything from line to line. Stood out in all phases. Love the combination of feel, burst, and clean movement patterns.
Power:Easy gap pop.
Offensive Projection:Middle ceiling.
Field:Checks a lot of boxes back there. An above average receiver with very quick feet that show up in his blocking and exchange phases. Well above average catch/throw guy.
Throw:Average arm that plays up due to quick transfer skills.

Hit: At the plate Nehrenz has a narrow set up with a slightly open stance. He uses a controlled stride forward for his load. He gets his barrel through the zone fairly efficiently and shows a mostly on plane bat path that borders on somewhat flat.
Top BP Exit Velocity: 88.1 mph
Top BP Distance: 275 feet
Offensive Projection: Shows gap to gap potential as he physically matures.
Field: Behind the plate he shows naturally quick feet and a quick release. Basic footwork and arm action could be cleaned up and refined.
Throw: 74 mph from behind the plate.
