Hunter Cahl: 3B/RHP, (2022) Elyria, OH. 6-foot, 170-pound. Solid during batting practice, Cahl clocked an exit velocity of 87 mph. (60.95 mph bat speed average). (20.35 mph hand speed average). Starts in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was above average, displayed a level swing plane and level finish. He found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 80 mph; had soft hands, a natural clean exchange, and in control footwork. When fielding he gathers the ball out front. Had a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a time of 8.08 in the 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, showing consistent arm speed he used a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Threw his fastball 77-79 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 1765; Avg 1627). His 11/5 curveball (69-71) has hard late action. (Max spin 1560; Avg 1560). His changeup showed slight action.
5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic body frame. In the infield he has fluid footwork with athletic actions, showing the ability to move well laterally to cover ground. Throws with a clean arm action through a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 68 mph. On the mound he throws with regular effort to his delivery landing slightly more closed at foot strike finishing with his momentum carrying toward home plate. Throws with average arm speed through a ¾ slot. Fastball has some cut to it at times ranging from 68-71 mph. Curveball has good depth with mostly gradual break on an 11/5 plane between 61-62 mph. Throws the changeup near fastball arm speed at 62-65 mph. Right-handed hitter starts from an open stance striding back to even before his swing. Hands have a short, fluid load swinging with a mostly level bat path through the zone. Showed the ability to hit the ball to both sides of the field during his round of batting practice while reaching a top exit velocity of 75 mph.
