Defensively, he plays at a faster pace. Footwork is adequate. Tends to field the ball deep and slightly on his heels. Plays through the ball well, carrying his momentum towards the target. Glove skills are there. Transfers cleanly and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Arm strength across the diamond is average. Shows some potential as a solid defender. Starts in a tall stance at the plate and initiates loading sequence with a double tap. Showed impressive natural tools. Some of the more raw power we saw on the day. Barrel gets through contact with ease and the ball jumps off his bat. Projects as a middle of the order guy. On the mound the right-hander is an intimidating presence. Delivery is fluid and requires some effort. Uses an easy leg lift before his drop and drive load. Lands in line at foot strike with his momentum having him finish to the first base line. Arm works through a near over the top slot with above average arm speed. Fastball works downhill and was in and out of the zone. Breaking ball showed signs of sharpness, working on an 11/5 plane. Looked confident in the offering. Also flashed a knuckle ball a few times that had noticeable dance through the zone.
