A two-way prospect. A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a double tap for timing/energy. Barrel flows through load launching from a vertical position. Strength is apparent through the zone and he doesn't get cheated up there. Works through a middle away approach, producing consistent backspin to the middle/opposite field. Middle of the lineup potential. Registered an exit velocity of 86 mph and ran a 4.91 from home to first. In the infield he uses quick, direct footwork. Actions looked athletic outside of his funnel. Plays with aggression and confident. Ball skills are adequate and he has urgency to his transfer. Threw across the diamond with 78 mph arm strength. In the outfield he plays fast and gets to the baseball quickly. Showed above average ball skills as he plays through the baseball. Arm was impressive. Ball comes out well and throws showed carry at 83 mph. On the bump he has a quicker tempo to a delivery that requires some effort. Arm action is shorter and he works through a high-3/4 slot. Arm speed is developing. Fastball was mostly straight through the zone, sitting 75-76 mph. With his efficient delivery and outfield velocity it is safe to assume there is more in the tank. Curveball has potential to grow into an above average offering. The pitch moves on an 11/5 plane with signs of sharpness and depth at 62-65 mph. Also showed a knuckle ball that had some dance to it.
6-foot, 190-pound prospect with strong, athletic frame for his age. Compact, repeatable delivery. Throws with short arm action through a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Fastball was straight and commanded for strikes at 75-77 mph. Located his breaking ball for strikes. Showed gradual 11/5 action at 62-65 mph. Slows down arm speed on his changeup, which sat 53-55 mph. Also mixed in a 55 mph knuckleball that tended to be up in the zone. Stood out amongst his peers at the plate. Athletic stance. Big upper half load. Uses a short stride with good use of his lower half. Overall fluid rhythm to his swing. Consistently squared up the baseball. Top exit velocity of 70 mph. Ran an impressive 7.1 60 for his age. From the crouch, he shows arm strength, but needs to continue refining his mechanics. Tendency to open early creating some arm slot issues. Pop times ranged between 2.43 to 2.53. Could easily improve by closing up his front side and maintaining direction through his throws. In the field, shows a good initial first step off the bat and gets to balls quickly. He does tend to wait on the baseball rather than play through it. Transfer is a long at this time. Currently shows above average arm strength for his age registering a top velocity of 77 mph across the diamond.
