Starts in a wide stance with a small controlled load, then uses a small stride. He barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Capable recorded an outfield position velocity of 72 mph; has sure developing hands, a lengthy clean exchange, and consistent in control feet. Fielded the ball to the side with athletic movement laterally.
Jason Hodge: 1B/OF, (2026) Springboro, OH. 5-foot-7, 130-pound. During batting practice, the switch hitter clocked an exit velocity of 64 mph. (51.2 mph bat speed average). (16.0 mph hand speed average). Began in a wide athletic stance with a quick compact load, then used a controlled small leg kick. Had a level simple swing plane, efficient bat speed and balanced good extension on his finish. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 67 mph; shows athletic fluid feet, twitchy soft hands, and a quick developing exchange. Recorded an outfield position velocity of 70 mph; had twitchy hands, aggressive footwork, and a clean natural exchange. Uses his glove out front. On the mound, showing developing arm speed he had a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. Changeup (59-61 mph). Threw his fastball 63-66 mph.
