Began in a balanced quiet stance with a compact load, then used a quick stride. Has efficient bat speed, level swing plane and high finish. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 67 mph; showed consistent feet, sure hands, and a natural transfer. recorded pop times of 2.13-2.33. Some flexibility and quiet setup. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.25 at the event. On the mound, used a loose arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed slight running action. (Max spin 1475; Avg 1365). Threw a 11/5 curveball with slurvey action. (Max spin 1712; Avg 1562).
RHP/2B, (2024) Perry, OH. 5-foot-8, 180-pound athletic frame. Solid at the plate, Pentek clocked an exit velocity of 76 mph. (58.0 mph bat speed average). (21.9 mph hand speed average). Starts in a wide stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, uses a short uphill swing plane and high finish. Had some loud contact and found some barrels. Pull side approach. Capable while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 73 mph; had consistent footwork, sure hands, and a quick exchange. Movements laterally were average and he fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a short arm action with a high ¾ slot. Athletic on the mound, showing developing arm speed he had a longer arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed athletic balance point and even shoulders. Lands open with recoil finish. Threw his fastball 72-74 mph; has feel control and cutting action with flat movement. (Max spin 1737; Avg 1683). Had tilt and both sides of the plate command on his sharp curveball (53-55). (Max spin 3378; Avg 2225). Threw a straight changeup (62-64) with deceiving action and some command.
