At the plate Kalfas starts from a narrow set up. He uses step forward during his load and seems to somewhat lunge forward. He could maintain better balance during his swing by limiting how wide he gets once his load is over. He is very short to the ball with his bat path and registered a top exit velocity of 85 mph. Showed some athleticism behind the dish. Feet are quick and transfer abilities are adequate. Should see easy improvement in pop times as arm strengthens with maturity.

A catching/outfield prospect in the 2019 class. At the plate he swings it from the right side, starting in a balanced setup. Lower half is aggressive, creating energy through weight transfer. Often makes contact off front foot. Barrel launches from a vertical position and he takes a level to slightly downhill path to the baseball. Strength is his top tool at the plate. Frame/strength point to middle of the lineup type guy. Would be aided by controlling weight as he has a tendency to get to front side before swing decision. Top exit velocity was 81 mph. Behind the plate footwork is quick and he gets squared well. Releases baseball with weight on back leg. Should see easy increases in pop times as arm strength increases with maturity. Registered pop times between 2.28-2.38, showing 66 mph arm strength to second base.
